Latest updates from the web marketing world shows that google is still your best bet for ensuring maximum business visibility, though things could change this fall, with the release of the new Apple operating system. Take advantage of all of Google’s offerings to give your business a definite boost.

SEO Specialists Focus on Google SERP Rankings as the Internet Giant Continues to Corner Search Engine Market

Though the official comScore report for the month of May 2012 is yet to be released, financial analysts on the web have started to share their analysis of the search market share data for May.

As per the current report, it’s been a good month for internet giant Google, which continues to lead the market with a 66.7 percent search share in May. Other players came in at:

Yahoo: 13.4 percent (a definite decline from the 15.9 percent it had a year ago).
Ask: 3 percent (the search engine has been holding steady for the past two months).
Bing: 15.4 percent (a definite growth from 2011, as more users move away from yahoo).
AOL: 1.5 percent (showing a slight increase since April).

The figures confirm that things are in a bad way for Yahoo! as it seems its market share drop for the ninth consecutive month.

Focusing on Google SERP rankings continues to be the best bet for SEO marketers. But, online marketers need to pay extra care to their SEO practices as Google is apparently all set to take further steps to control negative SEO techniques. This will come as no surprise to industry watchers, as it comes in the footsteps of the Penguin and Panda updates, which targeted over-SEO-optimized sites. The latest update will supposedly target “bad” incoming website links, presumably ones without enough organic urls or adequate brand links.

New Apple OS Offers Fresh Possibilities to Marketers

The new Apple iOS 6, to be released this fall, offers several fresh marketing opportunities. One of the potentially most exciting new features is the Apple Siri knowledge navigator, which integrates the local search function with reviews and ratings. In other words, it allows users to find local restaurants and retail outlets and simultaneously pull up user reviews. Local businesses can definitely use this system to pull in fresh customers. Some basic marketing tips include providing up-to-date contact and product information as well as dealing with bad reviews instantaneously. Encourage customers to post updates on your services as more updates means a higher Siri ranking.

The new system will work on the iPhone models 3GS, 4 and 4S, the new iPad and iPad 2, and the fourth generation iPod touch.
